X-Men First Class (July 1, 2011), Carol Wong
I was very impressed with this X-Men movie. I found the acting to be very credible - James McAvoy does an outstanding job as a young Charles Xavier. Michael Fassbender captures the rage and angst of the young Erik, before he becomes "Magneto." If you are a fan of the other X-men movies, or even if you are not, this is still a worthwhile movie to watch to further one's understanding of how one's choices affect one's destiny early on

First of all, I want to say how much I enjoyed both movies. What I discovered in watching these two movies a few weeks apart from each other, is that both movies contained main characters who are men who have both had to deal with tragedy, but take the important steps needed to ensure that everything and everyone around them continues to thrive.

"The Social Network", January 27, 2011, Carol Wong
I was actually looking forward to watching this movie, since it had received so much critical acclaim and accolades. It is a smart, sophisticated take on the beginnings of Facebook, however, because of the characters or maybe mostly because of the attitude and actions of the main character, Mark Zuckerberg, I think it caused me to be sorry I ever heard of Facebook.

THOR, (June 3, 2011), Carol Wong
I haven't been going to many movies lately, as you might suspect from the lack of movie reviews since the Oscars! I really wasn't trying to avoid you all, I just needed a little break, but also I really didn't feel like any movies were "jumping out" at me until now.
I had been waiting for one of the new Marvel comics movies to come out so "Thor" seemed like a good bet.

"Unstoppable" (Dec. 16, 2010), Carol Wong
I have to admit I have a bias toward action-type movies, particularly when it stars Denzel Washington. If Denzel is paired with director, Tony Scott, I know I am going to get my money's worth, because Mr. Scott likes high action, a lot of suspense and his movies seem to bring out the best in Denzel.
